Research, Science and Technology
Supporting research partnerships The government is supporting science partnerships with new funding for research consortia of $25.2 million over four years, at $6.3 million a year to support research projects developed by science providers and users working cooperatively on a specific issue.
Backing teachers of science, maths and technology A programme that boosts the skills of teachers of science, mathematics and technology is being extended with $5.1 million of new funding over three years.
New health research partnership for Pacific peoples A major new research project on the health of Pacific peoples will be funded by a partnership between the government and the Wellcome Trust.
Strengthening basic science The public investment in basic science is being strengthened with a funding increase of $33.5 million over the next four years.
