Acting District Court Judge appointed

Tony Lendrum, barrister of Auckland and New Plymouth, has been appointed as an acting District Court Judge with general and family warrants for a period of two years, Attorney-General Christopher Finlayson announced today.

He will be based in the Hawke’s Bay.

Mr Lendrum was admitted to the Bar in 1975. Throughout his career he has specialised in family law. From 1996 he practised as a Barrister and from 2006 exclusively as a mediator. In that role he has mediated nationally, and primarily, in family law disputes and in particular in the area of relationship property and trusts, Family Protection, and Care of Children Act matters (including counsel led mediations).

He has also mediated in commercial, local government, development and product issues. He has served on both the Auckland District Legal Aid and Family Law Committees and has presented papers for NZFLS, Lexis Nexis and AMINZ.

Judge Lendrum will be sworn in on 11 April 2014 in Auckland.
