Broadcasting reappointments announced

Broadcasting Minister Craig Foss today announced that he has reappointed Jane Taylor to the Radio New Zealand board (RNZ) and Alison Gerry, to the Television New Zealand board (TVNZ).

“As highly skilled and experienced directors, Jane Taylor and Alison Gerry each make a valued contribution to RNZ and TVNZ and I am delighted that the boards will continue to benefit from their expertise for a further term,” says Mr Foss.

Jane Taylor is a consultant and director. Her career spans law and financial management, having qualified as a lawyer and chartered accountant. Ms Taylor has a breadth of governance experience and her current directorships include the Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences Ltd and Silver Fern Farms Ltd. She was previously on the boards of Research and Education Advanced Network New Zealand Ltd (REANNZ), Scion, and the Legal Services Agency.

Alison Gerry has expertise in applied finance. From an industry background she has held senior roles in banks, other financial institutions and corporates in New Zealand, Australia and Asia. More recently she has been a Visiting Fellow at Macquarie University in Sydney, lecturing on corporate treasury risk management. Ms Gerry is a director of Kiwibank Ltd, Queenstown Airport Ltd, Pioneer Generation Ltd and the NZX.

The reappointments expire on 31 October 2016.
