NZTA Board members announced

Transport Minister Steven Joyce today announced the appointments of Jerry Rickman, Tony Lanigan and Patsy Reddy to the Board of the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA).


Mr Rickman and Dr Lanigan have been appointed for a three year term commencing 1 August 2010, and Ms Reddy for a two year term commencing 1 October 2010.


"Jerry Rickman, Tony Lanigan and Patsy Reddy join recently-appointed Chair Chris Moller in bringing strong commercial experience to the board, in addition to their financial, legal and engineering skills," says Mr Joyce.


"Injecting their collective experience into the Board will be highly beneficial to NZTA's operations."


The terms of Paul Fitzharris and Grahame Hall end on 31 July 2010.


Mr Joyce acknowledged the contribution of the outgoing Board members.


"Mr Hall brought with him a wealth of local government experience when he was initially appointed as a member of the Transit New Zealand Board in 2006. Mr Fitzharris was a valuable member of the Establishment Board for the NZTA. He also served on the Land Transport New Zealand Board from May 2005, and was its Acting Chair from March 2007.


"I thank Paul and Grahame for their dedication and service to the NZTA."



Jeremy James (Jerry) Rickman

Mr Rickman is a chartered accountant and professional director and currently chairs the Waikato Regional Airport Ltd, HG Leach Ltd, and Tidd Ross Todd Ltd. Mr Rickman is a member of Telecom's Independent Oversight Group and director of Alandale Life Care Ltd. He has chaired the Waikato District Health Board, Dallas Motors Ltd, Greens Industries Ltd, Innovation Waikato Ltd, Dow Group Ltd, and Katolyst Group.


Anthony Gerard (Tony) Lanigan


Dr Lanigan is a project management consultant and former general manager of Fletcher Construction. Dr Lanigan was Chancellor of Auckland University of Technology and a director of Infrastructure Auckland. He is currently vice chair of Habitat for Humanity International and a director of NZ Housing Foundation. He was a director of Inframax Construction Ltd and a member of the advisory board of GHD New Zealand Ltd.


Patricia Lee (Patsy) Reddy


Ms Reddy is a professional director, consultant, and barrister and solicitor. She is chair of the New Zealand Film Commission, a member of Active Equities Ltd and the NZ Markets Disciplinary Tribunal, a trustee of the New Zealand International Festival of the Arts, and Chief Crown Negotiator for Treaty Settlements. Ms Reddy was a director of Telecom, Sky City Entertainment Group, New Zealand Post, Air New Zealand and Southern Petroleum New Zealand.
