Economic Development Minister Steven Joyce today announced the reappointment of Anne Blackburn as Deputy Chair of New Zealand Venture Investment Fund Ltd (NZVIF).

Anne Blackburn was first appointed as a director of NZVIF in 2008 and became the Deputy Chair in 2011.

“Anne has brought to the NZVIF Board strong business and finance skills, knowledge of banking and investment, together with extensive governance experience in both Crown-owned and private companies,” Mr Joyce says.

Anne Blackburn is an Auckland-based company director, who spent the bulk of her career in banking both in New Zealand and internationally. Along with NZVIF, her current director roles include TSB Bank, Fidelity Life Assurance, Fisher Funds Management, Eastland Group (Gisborne), Committee for Auckland, Auckland Council Property, Royal District Nursing Service NZ and Warren and Mahoney.

Prior to NZVIF, Ms Blackburn had significant experience as a director of Crown owned companies, including Television New Zealand Ltd, AgResearch Ltd and Meridian Energy Ltd.  She has also held a number of not-for-profit governance positions in the arts and education sectors, currently being a member of the Council of Unitec and a Trustee of the Chinese Language Foundation.
