Asia-Oceania Wheelchair Rugby Zone Championships Speech
Kia Ora and Good morning. [with sign language]
[with sign language] My name is Pansy and I am the Associate Minister for Disability Issues.
It is a pleasure to be here today at the opening of the Asia-Oceania Wheelchair Rugby Zone championships, where the best of the best from within the Asia Oceania region come to compete.
I'd like to welcome all the International teams here from the Asia Oceania zone, as well of course as our own Wheel Blacks.
I would also like to congratulate all the players here today for competing in this tournament.
Because of your talent and your hard work you have been chosen to represent each of your individual countries and I am sure you will compete with skill, determination, and sportsmanship.
New Zealand, and particularly Canterbury, is a place that loves to celebrate the success of sporting prowess and athletes and I'm sure that I speak on behalf of all New Zealanders when I say it is a privilege to have you playing in our country.
I wish all the rugby players the best of luck in these championships. Enjoy the competition and be proud to represent your country. I am sure that this event will be a rewarding experience for you all.
Thank You.
