Appointment of GCSB Acting Director

Deputy Solicitor-General Una Jagose has been appointed Acting Director of the Government Communications Security Bureau from 28 February, Minister Responsible for the GCSB, Christopher Finlayson, announced today.

“Una Jagose has a reputation for hard work and delivering results,” Mr Finlayson said.

Ms Jagose was selected following advice provided by the State Services Commission.

Ms Jagose has been the Deputy-Solicitor, Crown Legal Risk for the last two years, following a decade in a variety of other roles at Crown Law and working as Chief Legal Advisor at the Ministry of Fisheries.

“I have dealt with Ms Jagose in my role as Attorney-General and know her to be a highly competent and capable leader,” Mr Finlayson said.

Ms Jagose takes over on an interim basis from Ian Fletcher, who finishes as Director on 27 February.
