Land Transport Safety Authority Appointments

Transport Minister Mark Gosche today announced he has appointed former Prime Minister Rt Hon David Lange as Deputy Chairperson of the Land Transport Safety Authority.

He has also appointed Simon Mitchell as a member of the Authority's Board.

"The Land Transport Safety Authority has an important role to play in promoting safety in the land transport sector. I am very pleased that people of this high calibre offer their skills and experience to the Crown entities" said Mr Gosche.

"And I want to acknowledge the contribution the retiring Board members Howard Keyte and Graham Malaghan have made to the land transport sector".

Simon Mitchell is a family and employment law specialist.

Rt Hon David Lange CH, practised law in Auckland from 1970 until he entered Parliament in 1977. He was Prime Minister from 1984 until 1989. He was also Minister of Foreign Affairs and Education.
